Hi everyone,
I am having problems with my
Extrusion calibration set up.
My printer is extruding to much filament and therefore, not sticking in the bed after some seconds. I started to doubt the way I am using the equation at the calibration document of the printer. So I thought to go step by step bellow to see if any of my assumptions are wrong.
1 - The result of the formula.
After measuring my deviation by extrudin 10mm and measuring the distance until the extruder hole, I am using this formula that requeries the E old value . But my result is always the opposite than it should be (smaller).
E new = E old * ( 100 - difference / 100)
It seems the result will be always smaller than E old, since you are multipling it with the value of the parenthesis will always less than 1 (0.85 , 0.25 , ....). But in the calibration doc highlights:
(If the extruder moved a too small distance the value should become higher if the extruder moved too far it should become smaller)
The value of the difference is calculate by measuring the measured distance - 20 mm , but mine is always less than 100, such as 85 mm or 40 mm. That doesn't seem to make sense for me.
2 - The E old value
I have been pressing M114, where I can find also the
X Y Z value, I suppose that is my old E.
3 - How to reset the value
I tried so many times that I think it is better to reset the previous times writing
M92 E0 , so E becomes E500. Is the right way to reset it?
4 - Is there any reference (pics) that we can look and compare to our printer ?
I found difficult to see what is the right extrusion in the pictures of social media or instragram. Would it be nice if you can share an example in the calibration doc for the user!
Bellow I show the results of my current extrusion: (you can see the printing file forming a blob by the amount of filament)
Thanks in advance!
